Janie C. Farina has been an LPGA Class A member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association Teaching Division for 31 years. Ms. Farina possesses a BA in Psychology from the State University of New York at Plattsburg. Growing up in the Adirondacks of Upstate NY in a family of golf pros, Farina has been involved in golf her whole life.

Janie has headed up several merchandising and pro shop upgrading projects at golf courses in FL, NM, KY, and NC. and was Co-Owner of two pro shops. Her supervisor at Sandestin Resort won the PGA Merchandiser of the year for 1994, the year she was his assistant merchandiser.

During her coaching career, Janie propelled successful seasons for Women’s High School Golf and Division II College Teams in New Mexico and Florida. Over the span of 11 years, Farina’s High School recruit she drafted to College secured the first ever individual National DII title (not playing with a team) in NCAA history. As a Women’s Golf Coach, Farina was nominated for regional High School Coach of the Year in 2003 and also National Coach of the Year for the LPGA in 2007.

Janie has been involved in teaching golf to physically challenged populations since 1999, with proven golf instruction success in Polio, Rickets, Muscular Dystrophy, ADD, ADHD, Down’s syndrome, Lymphoma, amputees, Blindness, and severe Birth Defect students. Janie also has recent training in Wounded Warriors for Golf, amputee program, through the First Swing, and LPGA, which has blossomed into community coordination with the Carolina’s Golf Association, Ft. Bragg, and St. Joseph of the Pines/First Health.

Since 2007, Janie has been the Site Director and Lead Instructor for the LPGA-USGA GIRLS GOLF CLUB of Pinehurst/Sandhills. Despite losing their home facility and employment due to the recession in 2009, the Girls Golf Club has grown in 2 ½ years to include 40 members of girls ranging from 7-17 years old, who are learning how to play and advance their skills for golf. Janie has been instrumental in weaving a community based effort to support the local Girls Golf Program with the Silver Foils, financial need based organizations such as Moore Buddies, Clinics with Eric Alpenthal at Pinehurst Resort, Moore County Senior Center and the TShot Ranch Day featuring leadership training with horses and golf.

Janie has been certified for the Henry Griffitts club fitting school, The Titleist Club fitting School, and has worked with Ping, Cobra, Tour Edge, Cleveland, Nike, Calloway, Top Flite, MacGregor, Hogan, and Wilson fitting systems.

Janie has been involved in public speaking for several local clubs and organizations and recently at the oldest women’s golf volunteer organization in the country, The Silver Foils.

In addition to speaking, JC has appeared in radio shows, and written hundreds of articles on golf through her career. Her most recent publication was published in Carolinas Golf.

Targeting Pinehurst, Ft. Bragg, and Southern Pines’ horse owners, golf local community, and military, Janie’s focus is beginner golfers, juniors, women, seniors, and the physically challenged sector in teaching golf.

Janie’s expertise in club fitting and focusing on the unique Psychological and Physical components of each player have encouraged many success stories.

From 2007-09, The Survival Golf School at the Pit Golf Links was Farina’s most renown career project, as she headed up a unique training program targeted to advance any players goals, with any challenge to learn, play, get equipped, and retain the skill and love of the game for a lifetime.
